General introduction of the project

Welcome to the “Capacity building to support the uptake of biosimilars in a multistakeholder approach”, i.e. the AUGMENT Biosimilars Project! 

This initiative, commissioned by the European Health and Digital Executive Agency (HaDEA), aims to support the uptake of biosimilars through a multistakeholder approach. The project’s goal is to enhance the accessibility, affordability, and availability of medicines across Europe. Biosimilars, follow-up products to biological medicines, have potential for cost savings and improved patient access, but face uptake barriers. This project aims to identify and promote best practices to overcome these challenges and support healthcare sustainability.
 

The AUGMENT Biosimilars Project includes a comprehensive study on best policies and practices and capacity-building activities. By engaging a wide range of stakeholders, including policymakers, healthcare professionals, patient groups, and industry representatives, the project aims to gather diverse insights and foster collaboration.
