Workshops

25 - 26 February 2026: Workshop with national competent authorities

The aim of the workshop was to support National Competent Authorities on Pricing and Reimbursement and Public Healthcare Payers in implementing effective policies to increase biosimilar uptake.

The event provided up-to‑date evidence, highlight key levers to overcome implementation barriers, enable peer learning, and offer practical, hands‑on training.

The two‑day workshop consists of five modules covering key topics related to biosimilar policies and best practices:
🔸Measures related to interchangeability, switching, and substitution
🔸Biosimilar pricing policies
🔸Building awareness and trust among decision‑makers, healthcare providers, and patients
🔸Increasing preparedness for Loss of Exclusivity
🔸Critical (or inhibiting) factors for successful biosimilar uptake.

We thank all participants for their participation and inputs!

Study visits

During April and July 2026, five study visits to Poland, Norway, Portugal, France and Cyprus brought together stakeholders from across Europe to explore what drives successful biosimilar uptake. Each visit brought together a rich mix of stakeholders, including public authorities, community & hospital pharmacists, clinicians, patients, procurement experts, and academia – reflecting on their countries’ systems, lessons learnt and sharing perspectives on what it really takes to improve biosimilar uptake.

Thank you to all project partners and participants for the valuable exchanges.
